e cater to people who prefer the "Quiet Side" of Mt. Desert Island. There are no commercial businesses around us, as we are surrounded by a pond, pine forest and ocean. Our next door neighbor is Acadia National Park.

There are four distinct eco-systems that converge here.

  • The fresh water pond that is a result of the creek that is dammed up by the Seawall.
  • The Heath Bog that is with-in the pond.
  • The coniferous forest that surrounds us.
  • The Atlantic Ocean.

As a result there are many different birds and animals here, including Duck Family bald eagles, harbor seals, common warblers, muskrat, mink, porcupines, a variety of seagulls, eider ducks, wood ducks and mallards.

We are located on the Western Way and see many sailing ships entering and leaving Southwest Harbor.

There are many things to do here, from kayaking to mountain biking, or exploring the seawall and finding starfish, crabs and fish. The pink granite shores are beautiful and relaxing.
